A student who receives a failing grade in a course during the school year has two options for remediation. The student can make up the course in an approved summer school program or arrange to be tutored by a certified teacher. Tutoring arrangements must be pre-approved by the counselor. Summer school sessions are primarily for remediation of failed courses. However, some summer schools offer courses for first time credit. The time in class requirements are different for this type of credit and each course must be approved by the counselor.
