A 5 point reading check quiz will be given to verify reading.

All literature circle jobs are worth 10 points.

Participation in literature circles each day is worth 5 points.

Novel assigned varies by group:  Mrs. Ayres' groups in periods 1, 2, 3, 5 are reading Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry.  Mrs. Ayres' period 7 class is reading Warriors Don't Cry.  Mrs. Hess's groups in periods 2, 3, 5 may be reading Bud, Not Buddy or Watson's Go to Birmingham.  Mrs. Crouse's group in period 5 are reading That Was Then, This is Now.

Assignments of chapters may vary based on book read.  A chapter portion or more is assigned every day, including Fridays, for completion of the reading and the literature circle job in order for the student to be able to participate in literature circle groups in class.  Those students who are not prepared for class will receive 0/5 points for participation.  Those students will be removed from their groups and will complete their work that was due at the start of the period.  Those students will need to proceed with their reading and complete the next job on time.  All chapter work will be completed by Friday, May 3.

On May 6, we will complete review material for each book to prepare for a final test and/or complete a culminating project of three different mini-projects selected from a choice of nine.   This unit will end by Friday, May 10 with all work completed and turned in.
