Welcome to the Donegal High School Counseling Office & Career Center!
The Guidance Office is located in the Main Office at Donegal High School. There are three counselors who are assigned to work with students based on the first letter of the students' last names. The counselor assigned to students with last names A-G is Ms. Olson, students with last names H-O are assigned to Mrs. Kuhn, and Mr. Rosengrant is the counselor for students with last names P-Z.
The role of the high school counselor is to assist students with their academic, career, and personal concerns. Some of the responsibilities for the school counselor include:
Provide individual counseling for academic and personal concerns
Aid in course selection
Assist with career guidance
Track students’ graduation requirements
- Refer students who need additional services
Arrange parent/teacher conferences
Distribute Bulletins to students with important information
- Review college and scholarship applications and send materials (transcripts, etc)
Write letters of recommendation
Enroll new students
Attend meetings regarding students
Monitor grades
Meet with students for conflict resolution
Present large group guidance activities
Conduct small group counseling
