The Donegal Junior High School Concert Band is comprised students in grades 7-8 who have experience playing a band instrument. Individual musicianship is addressed during a 3-day group lesson schedule. Students may audition to participate in county and district events. The band rehearses during the last period on cycle days 2,4,6. The band performs at one (1) home varsity football game (with the high school marching band) in the fall, the Holiday Concert in December, and the Spring Concert in May.

The Donegal Junior High School Jazz Band is a select ensemble, chosen by audition, for instrumentalists in grades 7-8. Members of this group must also be members of the Concert Band, or, in the case of piano, guitar and bass, must have approval by the director and pass the audition process. The band rehearses on predetermined evenings. The Jazz Band performs at the Holiday Concert in December and the Spring Concert in May, as well as various other events each year.
