Varsity Coaching Staff

 Coach Miller is entering his fourth season at the helm for the Indians. Prior to becoming the head coach, Coach Miller was an assistant coach for Frank Stellar for 10 seasons.  Coach Miller began his baseball career in Mount Joy. He is a 1993 graduate of Donegal. He then played left field for Allegheny Community College where coach Miller was a member of two (2) national championship teams. Chris then attended Mansfield University and graduated in 1997 with a degree in elementary education. While at Mansfield, Chris was a member of the 1997 PSAC State championship team, which was also the northeast region qualifier. Chris led the team in home runs and games played. Chris also holds a master degree in education from Eastern Mennonite University and an Administrative Certificate from Penn State University.  In addition to coaching baseball, Coach Miller is the Head Junior High Football coach.  Coach Miller resides in Mount Joy with his wife Julie and their four children Grace, Lydia and Emma and Christian.  He is currently an Assistant principal at Donegal High School.

Coach Myers is entering his fourth season with the Indians.  He is a 1992 graduate of Donegal, where he was a three-year Varsity Letterman in baseball, football and wrestling. Upon graduation, Coach Myers entered Allegany Community College to continue his academic/athletic career. While at Allegany, Coach Myers played shortstop, earning All-American Honors in his sophomore season. Coach Myers then accepted a full athletic scholarship to West Virginia University where he was named team MVP and led his team to a Big East Championship and within two games of the College World Series. From 2002 to 2005, Coach Myers was an assistant coach with the Elizabethtown College baseball team. His responsibilities include working with infielders and assisting with hitting instruction. Coach Myers resides in Mount Joy with his wife, Kyra, and their two children, Andrew and Molly.


Shane Calaman, Assistant Coach
Coach Calaman is entering his third season with the Donegal Indians.  He was a 1991 graduate from Donegal, and a member of the 1990 District Champion Team while pitching and playing third base.  Coach Calaman continued his academic and pitching career at Allegany Community College, which obtained two JUCO World Series births.  Coach Calaman accepted a scholarship to continue his career at Radford University, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Medicine.  Coach Calaman's responsibilities will be to work with the Junior Varsity and Varsity pitching staffs.  Coach Calaman resides in Elizabethtown with his wife, Becki, and their four daughters.



Coach Topper is a graduate of Millersville University and also a 1980 graduate of Washington University of St. Louis.  His coaching background included 3 years as an assistant junior high football coach at Donegal under coach Stellar, 4 years as an assistant varsity baseball coach at Central York, 3 years as an assistant junior varsity baseball coach at Central, and 1 year as head junior varsity baseball coach at Central.  He is entering his seventh consecutive season with the team.  He and his wife Linda live in York. They have 3 children.
